Frenchmen's Hole Falls. Ketchum/Newry, Maine
Information

This is a popular swimming hole on many a weekend, but during the week days a more secluded atmosphere can be obtained. Recent development of the Sunday River Ski Area has led an increased awareness to these small but refreshing falls. Only the first couple of miles of paved road has this modernistic Maine atmosphere resort condominiums . After the road turns to dirt the small rustic vacation or hunting cabins emerge dotted on small roadside plots. My favorite was labeled as :

"CAMP KWITCHURBELYAKIN "

Located 8 miles back on paved road turning into an improved dirt road. During the summer months is very passable even in a car. Winter or a muddy spring I do not know.
