In May 1941, Philip was in for the duration of WWII. Stationed at Schofield Barracks, on December 7th, 1941 the day the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, he continued through the Pacific campaigns such as Gaudalcanal, Northern Solomon and Luzon. He served as a Ssgt in the 89th Field Artillery, 25th Infantry with a specialty of ammunition and weapon maintenance. Interesting images of the 25th Infantry in training and later in more obscure locations. Discharged Aug. 1945.
