Buttermilk Falls. Plymouth, CT
These Buttermilk Falls are located in Plymouth, these falls are preserved by The Nature Conservancy and are an excellent choice to visit. With a dynamic drop of 55-60 feet this is a must destination for waterfall enthusiasts. Up stream from the main falls is another smaller but interesting cascade along with glacial boulders.
From Rt-8 at exit 38, follow Rt-6 east into Plymouth for 2.7 miles, turn right off of Main Street onto Eagle Street. Follow Eagle into South Eagle street for 2.5 miles. Just after you cross a set of railroad tracks you’ll T into South Main Street/Wolcott Road, turn left and then your next immediate right onto Lane Hill Road. A small parking area after a couple of houses is located at the bottom of a small hill. Walk up the road watching for the blue blazed trail on the right within a couple of hundred yards. Allow 30 minutes round trip.
