Chapman Falls - Devil's Hopyard State Park. East Haddem, CT

A powerful, 60 foot, 5 star, waterfall located within Devil’s Hopyard State Park in East Haddam. The brink of the falls are visible from the road and with only a short walk to its base. Best viewed during spring run-off or after periods of heavy rain.

Follow Rt-2 south, after passing exit 18, Rt-11 south branches off Rt-2, follow Rt-11S for 7.3 miles where it terminates into Rt-82. Turn right following Rt-82 west for 3.5 miles. Turn right onto Hopyard Road / Rt-434 heading north. In 2.5 miles you’ll enter the State Park, in another 1 mile, you’ll turn right onto Foxtown Road with the parking area for the falls being on your immediate left. Allow 15 minutes round trip.
