Wadsworth Big Falls. Middlefield, CT
Approximately 25-30 feet high with a span of 50 -60 feet, the Coginchaug River entire volume roars over a ledge creating a dynamic high volume waterfall, one must see. Easy access and very spectacular during heavy rains or spring run off just makes this a very appealing waterfall destination.
From Hartford we took I-95 south to exit 18, east onto I-691 which changes into Rt-66.. Within .5 mile on Rt-66 we turn south onto Rt-147 (Baileyville Road) for 2.3 miles. At the junction of Rt-157 turn left and head east for 1.6 mile bearing right at a fork staying on Rt-157 to Cherry Hill Road on your right. Within in .1 mile you'll see the Wadsworth Park and the falls area across the field.
