Information
Tighten up the laces on your hiking boots. From the Appalacian Trail crossing Upton Rd (a.k.a East B Hill road) follow the A.T. south. You'll decend downhill following a mountain stream which has a few small cascading waterfalls. In about a .5 mile you'll junction with the West Branch of the Ellis River, from here you'll work up stream for .2 of a mile. The A.T. will branch off away uphill from the river, a spur continues on the right, over boulders and logs to the base and recessed pool of lower Dunn Falls. |

Directions
From Rumford, follow rt-2/ Rt-5 west for 8 miles to the junction of Rt-5 north to Andover. North on Rt-5 for 10 miles going through South Andover until your in Andover. In the center of Andover turn left onto Upton Road. You'll be heading west for 8 miles, look for the A.T. Crossing, park here. FYI: your on the back side of Grafton Notch State Park. Countinuing on Upton Road will junction with Rt-26 which turning south will bring back down through the notch and Screw Auger Falls. |
