Richard Heyer *** U.S. Army *** Korea

 

Richard served in the Army from Nov. 1951 to Oct 1953. After basic training at Fort Jackson he was pitching fast balls with the 37th Infantry "Buckeyes" baseball team during the 1952 season. However, this was a temporary deferment and served as a rifleman in the 25th Infantry "Wolf's Head" Division, 27th Regiment in Korea from the fall of 1952 to Nov. 1953
