Don Luke *** U.S.A.F. *** Vietnam 1968-1969

 

Landing at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam on November 7, 1968, Don was processed into Nha Trang's 4th Special Operations Squadron. Transferred to the noted "Rocket City" of DaNang where he became Crew Chief to "Spooky" gunships, armed AC-47's equipped with rapid firing Vulcan Canons "Mini-Guns"(spurting 5000 (x3) plus= a BaZillion 30 caliber bullets per minute.) For working 12 hours, sunrise to sunset days he got to reside in "Gunfighter Village" another infamous location at Da Nang.
