Unlike German soldiers who surrendered in large numbers, surrendering Japanese soldiers were fewer in number and were warily accepted. Ralph Simmons, Washington, MA was present witha camera for this rare incident while serving with the 595th Signal Aircraft Warning Battalion, 5th Air Force in the Philippines in late 1945.
